31 Things To Do At The 2016 Bucks County Show : Day 1 - The White Helmets

The count down to the 2016 Bucks County Show has begun, so we thought we’d feature something to do at the show each day between now and the 1st September.

One of the highlights of this years show in the main arena will be the White Helmets, or The Royal Signals Motorcycle Display Team to give them their full name!

Giving their traditional, thrilling and disciplined arena displays on British Millennium Triumph 750cc motorcycles they clearly show all the qualities of teamwork, courage, trust, strength and agility that are needed in the modern Army.

We are delighted that they will be showing us their amazing tricks.

The Royal Signals Motorcycle Display Team (RSMDT), also known as the White Helmets, is a group of serving soldiers from the Royal Corps of Signals of the British Army, who give public displays of motorcycling skills, acrobatics and stunt riding. The team is based at the home of the Royal Signals at Blandford Camp in Dorset.

Today’s team consists of 30 soldiers, all volunteers from within the Royal Signals. New members begin with two weeks’ induction in November and the whole team spends the winter learning routines and stunts, culminating in an opening display in April where white motorcycle helmets are ceremonially presented to successful new recruits by the Signal Officer-in-Chief. The remainder of the summer is spent touring, giving public performances at events throughout the United Kingdom and abroad such as the Royal Military Tournament.
